Paper and our environmental commitment
Carbon footprint calculation according to ISO 14064-1
Printeos. has wanted to take the initiative in managing GHG emissions. To this end, it has carried out an exhaustive inventory of the carbon footprint of all the inputs of its production processes, both direct and indirect, following the methodology of the ISO 14064-1 standard. From this global inventory, it has developed a unique methodology that allows you to accurately calculate the carbon footprint of your products.
Aware of the importance of its carbon footprint measurement and compensation initiative being equipped with all the rigor that current science allows, Printeos is also a pioneer in hiring the services of a world-renowned verification company to audit its carbon footprint. and its methodology for calculating the footprint of its products.
Carbon Neutral
Climate change and greenhouse gases (GHG)
Greenhouse gases (GHG) are gases that are naturally found in the atmosphere and their mission is to retain the heat that the Earth gives off, making it habitable. However, due to human activity, mainly deforestation and burning of fossil fuels, in recent years the emission of these GHGs and their concentration in the atmosphere have increased. Scientists at the United Nations International Climate Conference have concluded that this increase in GHG is causing global warming and climate change, with potentially serious consequences for the environment.
Today the emission of GHG and climate change has become the environmental problem of greatest concern worldwide.
Carbon footprint
Since CO2 is the main greenhouse gas, the carbon footprint is considered “all greenhouse gases (GHG) emitted by direct or indirect effect of an individual, organization, event or product.”
Within the growing awareness that spreads in our society to measure and limit our impact on the environment, one of the most widespread measures is the calculation of the carbon footprint.
Once the size of the footprint is known, a strategy can be implemented to reduce it.
What is a carbon neutral envelope?
The solid methodology developed allows us to accurately calculate the Carbon footprint of your manufactured envelopes.
Once the kgs of CO2 emitted have been calculated, we offset these emissions by purchasing carbon credits. In this way, the net balance of GHG emissions for these envelopes is ZERO. The CO2 emitted is reabsorbed back into the earth.
